I have been a fan of Mary Moriarty for several years now, and when this book came out...I jumped on it. I love the way she develops her characters and their interactions with each other. There is romance, paranormal characters and a HEA. I also love the fact that she incorporates her own life into her stories. The 2 familiars...Mika and Midnight are taken from her own cats. Also, the fact that she was a volunteer Firefighter added authenticity and uniqueness to the story. I loved the steamy relationship between Emma and Cas, and the fact that Emma was trying to hide that she was a witch with unique powers was a hoot to read. It is a feel-good book and it will capture the reader's heart. I really enjoyed the town of Cadwell Harbor - a perfect small New England town! I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a sweet and funny story and for the "good guys" to win. Bravo Mary...you did it again!!!Product details

"Too Hot To Handle" by Mary Moriarty is a fun, lighthearted romance about a witch named Emma who just happens to start fires anytime she's attracted to a man. When Cas moves to town and becomes their newest firefighter sparks start between them, and she starts small fires anytime the see one another. Emma has her Aunt Tiny cast a spell to keep her from burning down the town and igniting the two pf them. Will Cas be scared away when he discovers her secret?
Another great book from this author!! A funny romance about a witch who starts fires, same as her family going back forever, and then she sees Cas the new firefighter in town who effects her in a way that has her starting little fires whenever she sees him. Add 2 cat familiars (one in training), matching making aunts in another state, friends who know her secret and a neighbor who's feud with her family goes way way back and you have a story that makes you laugh and have fun reading it. I read it one sitting and highly recommend it!!
It was a good read. I liked the characters and it had some action. The old family feud, love interest and friends were all in here. I gave it four stars because it made me want to keep reading to find out what was going to happen. I would recommend this book. And I liked the authors style of writing.
Really Enjoyed this book - almost devoured it in one sitting - only sleep and work got in the way.
Emma is not your typical hereditary witch, she is a fire witch which cause unwanted side effects when she meets the hunky new fireman Cas. Attracted to Cas cause poor Emma to start spark fires from her finger tips, so she starts to avoid him at all coast. Help is at hand through her Aunt and her best friend Kathy plus her brother Paul who happens to also be a fireman. The three are determined to bring these two together but once that happens will Cas be able to cope when he find out he has fallen in love with a Witch plus there is the wicked neighbour plotting to destroy Emma once and for all.
The book had a good premise and I loved the historical tid-bits but the character development and story-line weren't really hard boiled yet. But the worst of it was the awkward writing. It almost felt like the person that wrote the book didn't speak English as a first language and if one more reference about her boobs came across the pages, I was going to have to put this book down for good. I can forgive a lot with a great story but this book felt like it was written by a computer.
What happens when you have a fire witch that can't control the fire when she gets hot an bothered, they hide away from temptation. Now enter the smoking hot new fire fighter who just happens to make your blood boil and you have a lot of unexplained fires popping up. This is a wickedly charming, highly entertaining , make you smile and laugh out loud romance that is sure to keep you glued to your seat. The characters are likable , the storyline flows right along and the kitty dynamic duo are just to much fun. If you are looking for a good time, this is the book for you. It will not disappoint. I hope to hear more from this charming cast and look forward to seeing what new kind of trouble the dynamic duo can cause.
